The holiday tradition of the Altadena Sheriff Station’s annual food and toy drive will wrap up this Saturday, Dec. 8, so there’s still time to help a local disadvantaged family have a happier holiday. The toys and food will be distributed on Sat., Dec. 15.
New, unwrapped toys and non-perishable foods can be dropped off at the following locations, among others in town:
- The Altadena Sheriff Station, 780 E. Altadena Drive
- The Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa St. , and Bob Lucas Branch Library, 2659 N. Lincoln Ave. (your library fines can also be forgiven with a large enough donation!)
- The Altadena Ale & Wine House, 2329 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
- The Palm Street Area Residents Association will be collecting for the drive on Sat., Dec. 8, at 241 E. Palm St. from 10 AM-1 PM.
- UPDATE: President Streets will conduct their toy drive on Saturday from 9-11 AM at 126 N. Harding.
Correction-o-rama: We’ve got several messages giving new details that contradict earlier information we were given:
- Eric Pierce of the President Streets Yahoo group says that the President Streets drive will be at the 1800 block of Harding;
- Capt. John S. Benedict says that the Sheriff Food and Toy Drive giveaway has been changed to Dec. 22 at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Drive.
