This is a real shame. The developer of this project should be ashamed of himself. These businesses are simply trying to make a dollar in these tough times and should not have to deal with being squeezed by him. If he had been fair, the County of LA would not have intervened and held the tenants rent payments in trust. Several have gone under already, going bankrupt just trying to get started. This community is under served with a lack of banks, gas stations, grocers, restaurants and more.
Another example of why businesses leave for other states where they are not regulated to death by the state or squashed by the greedy developers.

This is my favorite market – and this is a shame. The community is outraged. Where are the leaders who need to do something about this? How can we get our market back?

Superking Markets taking over the store is the best thing that could have happened for the community, there stores bring in so much volume business with their low competetive prices , great quality, customer satisfaction and service to the customers. What this means for the community is lots of new jobs and heavy traffic luring many investors to open up businesses, spend your money there and embrace your new market Superking.

It is such a shame this market is closed. With Altadena in such dire need of grocery stores and restaurants(NOT fast food) this new development gave hope. Even though it did not end up looking the way it was described in the several town meetings I went to before a plan was approved, I was happy that something was developed in the under served areas of Altadena. The development looks as though it will never be finished nor are businesses moving in. We will now have to drive several miles to get to a grocery store again….or deal with the horrible Ralphs on Lake that was never re-furnished as they said they were going to do. We just get to look at the burned out bank with grafitti all over it. Now with a new development happening at Lincoln and Altadena what will that bring? Just an ugly building that blocks the beautiful mountain views? Please let’s hope it’s not a liquor store or check cashing store or an auto supply store….I think we have enough of those in our small town!!
