Rose West at the Altadena Chamber of Commerce reminds us that the deadline is coming up for nominating the Citizen of the Year and the new Business of the Year:
The Altadena Chamber Board of Directors has selected a citizen of the year since 1945. The nominees come from local community based organizations, Chamber members and local residents. The recipients have been honored at a dinner that also names new Board members and a silent auction that benefits a local non-profit organization. As of this writing, we have not confirmed a date for this celebration but you can mark your calendar for late January, 2012.
The criteria for this selection is a person who has made a significant contribution to the community at large. This year the Board of Directors also agreed to select a Business/Organization of the year subject to similar criteria. We are excited about this new addition to our list of distinguished honorees since we are interested in business development in Altadena.
Please feel free to nominate a a person, business and/or organization that has worked to make Altadena better. The nominee must live in/operate their business/organization in Altadena and may not be a current member of the Board of Directors. The deadline is 11/30/11.
