It’s not too late to start planning for summer, and Sheriff’s Support Group president Robert Klomburg give us the latest on the summer concert series at Farnsworth Park:
Our dates are locked in, and they are: 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6, 8/13, 8/20, 8/27 and the Grand Finale will be on 9/10. All concerts start at 7 PM and end around 9 PM. Every Saturday night!
We are in the process now of lining up the acts for this year’s summer concert series. We have more than 60 acts to choose from! Amazing that so many want to play in Farnsworth Park.
Warner Bros. Entertainment has agreed to again be a major sponsor this year. This is their way of giving back to the Altadena community for the inconvenience caused by their filming for television and feature films in the community. We can’t thank them enough. And, we will thank them and thank them, again and again!
Altadena is the only unincorporated community in the San Gabriel Valley who mounts a summer concert series without the benefit of being a city. We think this is very special, and we hope both individuals and even more corporate sponsors will come forward to insure that this 15 year Altadena tradition can continue for many more years to come. It’s certainly a challenge every year to raise the approximately $15,000 needed for the Summer Concert Series. Van Nixholm, from All American Audio Visual, will again be our sound engineer and lighting engineer, he gives us a great price for what he does. But, we still need to pay the performers!
