Christmas in Altadena is a benefit for St. Mark’s School which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year as a premiere independent neighborhood elementary school that attracts students from Pasadena, Sierra Madre, La Canada and other nearby towns as well as Altadena. It serves 350 students, pre-school through grade six, and is located at 1050 Altadena Drive, just east of Lake Avenue in Altadena. Jacob Maarse Florist is nearly as old as St. Mark’s School and has a national reputation for the work of its design staff and their ability to create elaborate and artful floral arrangements. Its beautiful store located at 655 East Green Street in Pasadena is a favorite with those seeking European influenced antiques and carefully selected items for the home.
