Is bowhunting legal on HWY 39? I saw a camo-clad bowhunter right below Crystal Lake two Saturdays ago.

Thank you for posting this. I am glad to have this contact info to report people. I saw this camo-clad fellow, and wasn’t sure what to do. When the man saw me and the dog, he got into his car and drove up Cheney Trail, entering the forest gates.

You may not like it but bow hunting is permitted by hunters who follow regulations, obtain licenses and permits, and report their kill to the sheriffs. Responsible hunters get clearance to pursue their their prey in our foothills.

There may be a very small percentage that do not comply and they certainly should be reported.

Otherwise, hunting is legal during specific times in our foothills and throughout the Angeles National Forest.

Everyone who enjoys our backyard trails should be cognizant of all pleasure pursuits – hiking, biking and hunting.

Mr. Altadenablog, perhaps on article regarding the actual guidelines would be useful to readers.
