One of the members of the Altadena “neighbors” listserve reported a bear about 9:30 PM Sunday at the Woodglen cul-de-sac; and reader Mary Trunk spotted one about 4:30 this morning from her home, near the intersection of Palm St. and Holliston.

Remember, keep these sightings amongst ourselves, otherwise we’ll come home to find TV trucks parked wall-to-wall on our already narrow streets (voice of sad experience).

Plenty of bear scat on Altacrest Trail too, so no surprises that a bear should be seen, and probably more often now that food supplies are getting a bit more scarce this time of year.

High five bear. I’ve seen them on the trail from time to time, and they’re gentlemen, or ladies, if you leave them alone.

I was driving late at night up the woodsy part of Sierra Madre Villa not long ago when a big animal ran across the street right in front of my car. At first I thought it was a horse and then realized it was a bear. Magnificent!

A bear visited us Friday night around 9:30PM and knocked over our two trash cans in our back yard. This isn’t the first time. A little less than two years ago the same thing happened. And I am afraid of them. Have been since I was a kid.

We were visited by the bear again lastnight. We live on E Loma Alta across from Zane Grey Terrace. It was around 1:30AM this time. My daughter had just gotten home from work. My oh my.
