Entries will be light for the next few days — we are traveling to the old hometown, Ft. Collins, Colorado, to bury our grandmother, Ellen Allen, who died Dec. 7 at age 102.

We are dragging out the old seminary training and will preside over her memorial service and interment on Friday, followed by a day with family,

The Altadena Library is looking for six actors and a musician for a staged reading of a new play.

 

“A Tree Grows” by author Cliff Moore tells the tale of a small town and its heroic tree during the 60’s.

Altadena Heritage, an organization “dedicated to protecting, preserving, and raising awareness of the rich architectural, environmental, and cultural heritage of our foothills community,” managed to find a house for its annual meeting on Sunday that combines just about all of those points in one place.

Body discovered: Members of Montrose Search & Rescue and LA County fire paramedics were working on recovering the body of a hiker found this morning near JPL.
