Altadena Farmers’ Market vendors Whisper Farms is hosting an open house today from 10 AM-4 PM featuring their aquaponic garden.  It’s part of the Aquaponics Associations’s 2013 “Tour de Tanks” promotion.  

“Aquaponics” is a system that uses aquatic creatures and plants  to grow food in a symbiotic system.

SponsorThe Arroyo Food Co-op is hosting an open house Thursday, April 25, at its new store site in Pasadena.

The open house runs from 6-8 PM at 494 N. Wilson Avenue.  Co-op board members will share plans for the store and offer tours of the property.

Altadena’s Susann Edmonds was named Queen of Pasadena’s Doo-Dah Parade Sunday during tryouts at the American Legion bar.  

With the selection of Edmonds, this year’s Doo-Dah Parade will be Altadena-centric, as Alan Zorthian was named grand marshal last month.

Fraudulent liens on Altadena properties were part of a wide-ranging fraud scheme that involved over 100 properties in Los Angeles County, according to the district attorney.

 

The DA filed charges against Anna Moskovyan of Van Nuys, 30, on March 21.  The 36-count indictment alleges “multiple counts of Grand Theft,
