Thanks Tim. It’s very much out of hand in west Altadena. It’s just disturbing.

PS: And honestly, had I known how bad the 4th of July is where I live, I wouldn’t have bought my house.

Every year our neighborhood complains about the illegal fireworks and the Sheriff does nothing. We have even talked to the station lieutenants for the past two years and still the fireworks continue. These are not just low powered sparklers. The people in our neighborhood always have a huge cache of high powered explosives worth thousands of dollars that makes the neighborhood like a war zone. Where do people get that kind of money to set off these expensive illegal high powered explosives? This starts the week before the fourth and sometimes continues for up to 2 weeks after. The people who do this brazenly put all of their fireworks trash in their trash bins in front of their own homes. We have told the Sheriff all about these same people every year and where to find them. The Sheriff does nothing to stop this. These people do nothing to hide what they are doing because they know the Sheriff will do nothing.

The Captain has informed me that the Sheriff will be taking proactive measures in my neighborhood in an effort to prevent this problem this year.

Fireworks go off all over LA County during this time of year. I see the sheriffs doing there best running from one call to the next with the limited resources they have. We need more deputies on the streets!
