Supervisor Antonovich joined the staff of Five Aces in proclaiming March 16th, 2013 as “Five Acres Day” in Los Angeles County in recognition of Five Acres’ 125th anniversary. 

Five Acres was established in 1888 as one of Los Angeles County’s first orphanages.  Today, it is as the oldest non-sectarian agency in the San Gabriel Valley, promoting safety, well-being, and permanency for children and their families by building on their strengths and empowering them within communities.

They provide an array of mental health, therapeutic and educational programs to abused, neglected and disadvantaged children and their families. They have four sites in Altadena, Pasadena, San Dimas, and El Monte.
