The National Weather Service is using a “snowflake” icon for Altadena this morning, which isn’t a good sign.  Rain is predicted before 10 AM, some thunder is possible.  Expect it to be mostly cloudy today, but the weather service is predicting a 70% chance of precipitation today.  There may even be snow in the hills before the day is done.

In the meantime, highs are predicted only in the 40’s today, possibly 35 degrees tonight, so take care of your plants!

Anticipating snowy and icy conditions, the Los Angeles County Public Works Department has closed public access to Los Angeles Forest Highway from state road 2 (Angeles Crest Highway) to Aliso Canyon Road, and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road from Angeles Forest Highway to SR-2 (Angeles Crest Highway) until further notice.
