Got a couple of inquiries about multiple sheriff cars and the copper chopper active last night, around 11 p.m. at Glenrose and Cosby (State & Lake blog reports multiple cars with lights on turning down Woodbury last night, in what’s probably the same incident). Just called the desk sergeant at the sheriff’s station, and he can’t find anything significant on the log. We’ll keep trying, but we had six cop cars and a chopper for “kids with toy gun” in my neighborhood this week, so anything’s possible …

On Thursday I saw several, emergency strobe light flashing, vehicles zip down Pepper Drive. A short time later they came back up the street and disappeared westbound on Glen Canyon.

Altadenablog, you must live in a sheltered part of town. I live on the corner of Mariposa and Marengo, conveniently located between the Sheriff’s Station/Firehouse and a moderately rough part of Altadena. Having a half-dozen patrol cars go by and the helicopter in orbit over on North Fair Oaks or Woodbury is hardly a rare occurrence. And a day without the paramedics coming by at least five times is almost not a day at all.
It is, I’m sorry to say, just a part of city living nowadays.
Perhaps if the Altadena Town Council could take a break from its eternal infighting and bickering, it could think about ways to make the commercial corridor on North Fair Oaks a little less attractive to the gangbangers. Getting rid of The Orbit on Lincoln and the liquor store on Woodbury/Lincoln certainly seemed to help over there.
