The Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena received a $1,000 donation this week from Pasadena Elk’s Lodge #672.
According to SSGA vice-president Jamie Bissner, “The donation was not specifically earmarked, permitting the SSGA to exercise discretion as to the best application of the funds.”
The SSGA’s purpose is to support the Altadena Sheriff Station “with services and materials not available through the budget, and to assist the community with those activities sanctioned by the commander.”
According to Bissner, SSGA came across the Elks’ radar last year, when the station was looking for large screen monitors following the station’s remodeling. Altadena resident and Elk member Rick Keaton arranged a donation of $500 toward that need.
“The SSGA sincerely appreciates this and all donations which so benefit law enforcement efforts in Altadena and we look forward to an ongoing relationship with Elks and all others who benevolently aid our community,” Bissner said in an email.
