A Golden Lab was to my right
in golden yellow hue.
A lemonade would be so nice,
the Dog Star thinks so too.

Chihuahua leapt upon my car
and spoke! Well what the heck?.
“Si, Si, for spicy foods, ” he said.
“Their heat makes makes bodies sweat!”

“Say what?” I asked in disbelief,
“I like the  clammy  cool.”
“Without that sweat, you’ll fail today!”
He barked, ” Health’s Golden Rule!”

A Saint Bernard in my back seat?
A keg around his neck?
“It’s filled with yogurt–not liquor,
warm weather’s safer bet!”

Dalmatian now appeared to me,
my body felt like flame.
“Please eat those leafy greens,” he said,
“in cooling summer’s name!”

I’m seeing dogs!  My brain explodes,
” I want–I want– ice cream!”
“It works short term, ” the Pit Bull said,
” cool water is the dream!”

Dog Days, Dog Daze, such great advice—
this  gift from Sirius!
Hallucinating Dog Advice—-
HEAT —-makes me delirious!
