In South Central, they tried a store,
they thought the people fools.
For Walmart wanted to ignore
environmental rules!

With pristine land so very near,
just  keep pollution out!
This VISION seems a nightmare now,
our future is a rout!

South Central, thank you very much,
you showed that  people count!
low paying jobs and no health care?
Oh Walmart…just get out!

And, once they get their big foot in,
small business goes to waste,
Just groceries now? Oh I doubt that,
small town will  lose the race!

So just how long, ago we ask
was this plan given life?
Elections past, so County boys,
you’ve given us the knife!

Cheap produce too, I bet they’ll have
Farmers Market ——SURPRISE!.
It took so long to get one here
 and now? And now it dies?

Poor Pay  and products from off shore,
our city has a curse
the  Octopus, known as WALMART,
is grabbing for your purse.

That VISION QUEST, is fading now
uniqueness was the goal.
But County, you have traded off,
our city’s very soul.
