“TRUMAN, the Dog, the Hunt, the Miracle”

Just 7 months old –this pit bull pup,
attacked while on a hike.
Through Eaton Canyon,TRUMAN ran
from mean dog’s scary bite!
A baby dog—lost in the woods,
wild critters in the hills.
Will Christmas spirit save this lad
from night time’s scary ills?
Will man’s best friend survive 5 nights;
will he be homeward bound?
The answer’s in Community,
where messages abound!
The magic of technology,
from blog to signs to phone;
Teresa and Peter–they learn,
there’s help—-they’re not alone!
Two hikers spot him on a ridge,
soon photo’s on its way.
For Jim and Maggie, HEROES now!.
Hot diggity dog, we say!
Then friends, they race to save Truman,
though darkness fills the night.
Then SUPER HEROES— Firemen three,
save TRUMAN from his plight!
And Firehouse 66–yippee!
We know you’re good with flame.
but saving little puppy lost,
Humanity—your name!
When off the ridge, and down the hills
another friend appears.
Now Jeff and family’s near backyard,
sweet ending— and sweet tears.
So MAN’s best friend, he finds it true,
by how this tale did end.
A MIRACLE for all around;
for man is DOG’S best friend!
