Portantino tonight: Altadena Town Council meets tonight, 7 PM at Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Dr. Assemblyman Anthony Portantino will deliver his annual “state of the state” address, and according to spokesperson Wendy Gordon, will discuss the financial state of the state, legislation and his on-going fight for transparency and open government.
Snortland’s “director’s cut': Ellen Snortland is presenting two performances of her fresh-from-Edinburgh Fringe Festival “director’s cut” of her one-woman show, “Now That She’s Gone,” at the Coffee Gallery on Sat., Oct. 29 (3 PM) and Sun., Oct. 30 (7 PM). Musicale: The Tueday Musicale of Pasadena will perform in the Donald R. Wright Auditorium of the Pasadena Central Library at 12:45 PM, Tuesday, Nov. 1. On the program is Beethoven Piano Sonata #18, in E flat( Barbara Ebert, Pianist), Debussy Sonata (first movement) for Violin and Piano (Roberta Wilcox, Violin, JoAnn Haycraft, piano} pop songs, folk songs and classics, sung by Ruth Ridenour, mezzo-soprano, and Brahms Piano Trio, #2 in C major, Marisa Sakaguchi, violin, Nancy Friedmann, cello, Barbara Shofler, piano.
