The Pasadena Weekly's Best of Pasadena issue came out, with a steampunk theme (and readers know if it's steampunk, we're there). This year, Altadenans are are well represented. Winners were in two categories: staff choices, and reader recommended:
- Best Charter School is Aveson Charter School, and reader recommendation is Odyssey Charter School.
- Best reader recommended gelato is Bulgarini, of course.
- Best reader recommended independent coffee house: The Coffee Gallery
- Best reader recommended bike shop: Steve's Bike Shop
- Best reader recommended day care: Altadena Christian Children's Center
- Best summer camp: Tom Sawyer Camp, and reader recommended Summerkids
- Best veterinarian: Dr. Daniel Vanderhoof
