The most dangerous women in America — then and now — take center stage Oct. 10 in a show to celebrate when women took their rightful place in democracy in California 100 years ago by winning the right to vote. The League of Women Voters Pasadena Area is co-sponsoring the event with Pasadena City College in cooperation with other civic organizations, including 50/50 Leadership, American Association of University Women, Pasadena/Altadena Links, Inc.,National Women’s Political Caucus, and Zonta Club of Pasadena.

Amy Simon, a cultural “herstorian,” actress and producer, will present “She’s History: The Most Dangerous Women in America, Then and Now,” to celebrate Women’s Equality Day at Creveling Lounge, Pasadena City College, 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. The performance is 7 PM, a reception with the artist and the women’s civic organizations follows at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $7. Due to limited seating, reservations are advised.

In her one-woman show, Simon keeps everyone laughing with her wry spin on ordinary and extraordinary women throughout history with her fast-paced impersonations. She engages, educates and entertains as she honors and celebrates American women, hoping to inspire tomorrow’s heroines.

Parking for $2 is available in student parking lots off Hill and Holliston avenues. Signs and greeters will help guide playgoers.
