There are two ways of looking at this Earth Day puff piece from PSN: Alta Loma students spend the morning putting in native plants at Las Flores debris basin to celebrate Earth Day, or their classroom education was canceled so they could become a pressed labor gang for the LA County Public Works.  (No word on if any child was offered the choice of remaining in class).  We’re all for offering creative and interesting ways to educate children, but when PUSD’s academic achievement is so low, spending a morning doing a public works job hardly seems like it’s going to help.
