Morning jolt: Wild Wood Park and sword-dancing — only in Altadena!
PSN’s Larry Wilsonhas a memoir of Wild Wood Park, on Palm east of Holliston (near Bear Country) which is also the scene for this year’s Altadena Guild of Huntington Hospital’sannual fundraiser on May 1, and the spring Art on Palm extravaganza May 21. (It’s a private drive, but we used to walk the dog there because we had friends who lived in the Henry Green Valentine cottage!)
The fabulous ex-Doo Dah queen MIckie Mills tells about the gig she picked up from performing at the Coffee Gallery — of course, the gig was belly dancing with swords at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire. But it’s all about being in the right place at the right time, which is frequently in Altadena …
