- We love good deeds: PSN’s Janette Williams looks at the Arroyo Time Bank’s program to harvest excess backyard fruit, which is then delivered to Union Station to be processed into juice and fruit salad (thus keeping with Oriental fruit fly quarantine regulations). Union Station Homeless Services gets about 500 pounds of fruit at a time thanks to time bank members.
- We love discounts: Local favorites The Pasadena Master Chorale will be performing Brahms’ Requiem for one performance only at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church on April 9 at 7:30 PM. If you click on this link and enter the code “PMCTRIBE” you’ll save $5 off the ticket price.
- We love Hollywood: Lindsay Blake, whose iamnotastalker blog and this site are mutual admirers, has nominated us for a “Stylish Blogger” award. However, progressing beyond the nomination seems to involve work on our part, which we try to avoid at all costs. Dr. Mrs. Altadenablog has her own opinions about our stylishness, which she freely shares with us daily. Still, as they say, it’s an honor just to be nominated!
- We love the alma mater: The Center for Engaged Compassion at the Claremont School of Theology will have a panel and performances from 1-3 PM this afternoon on “The Artistry of Social Justice.” Among the performers will be Altadenan Gary Moody. The event is free, and more details are here.
- We love second chances: If you’re the parent of a PUSD student and have missed the open enrollment window, this week you can submit a “late application”. Late applications — up to two per student — must be filed in person at the welcome center. More details here.
