Steve Gerow, whose photography we’ve featured from time to time, has one of his pictures of the interior of the Mt. Wilson Observatory’s 100-in. reflector in the December issue of the Mt. Wilson magazine, Reflections. Steve’s photos first appeared right here, and editor Marilyn Morgan (an Altadenablog reader) was so impressed with them that she used the best one (the one we featured) to illustrate one of their articles. Congratulations, Steve!
Michael Portantino, 52, brother of Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, died in an apparent suicide last week in San Diego. Portantino was the publisher of the San Diego Gay and Lesbian Times, which closed in October.
The Altadena Crest Trail Restoration Working Group (ACTRWG) will have no meeting this month, but will meet again Jan. 11
Likewise the Mt. Wilson Observatory Association, which will NOT have their monthly lecture in the library on Christmas Day!
