Ezra Jack Keats‘ children’s classic, The Snowy Day, will be the book at the annual “Read for the Record” day on Oct. 7.
The annual Read for the Record campaign encourages teens and adults to read with young children. By encouraging a single, common day of reading engagement where participants read the same book, they attempt each year to set a new world record and raise awareness about the importance of early childhood education.
Locally, reading locations and times will be at the Altadena Library, 600 E. Mariposa (11 AM & 4:30 PM); The Bob Lucas Branch Library, 2659 Lincoln Ave (4 PM); and Perry’s Joint Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop, 2051 Lincoln Ave. (10:30 & 4 PM).
There will be fun activities and participating children will get their own special copy of The Snowy Day.
