“The Laramie Project” follows the true story of Tectonic Theater Project, a company of actors as they journey to Laramie, Wyoming and conduct several interviews with the town’s people following the brutal murder of a local gay college student, Matthew Shepard. Within a year, the members of the company will return to Laramie several times and will conduct over 200 interviews in order to piece together Matthew’s story. Within that time, the unraveling incidents around Matthew’s death will reveal the truth behind the apparent hate crime, the media circus to follow, and a town that is ripped apart by the tragedy, all under the discerning eye of the Nation in waiting.
The production is a fundraiser for PFLAG and the AIDS Service Center, and is being held at the Church of Truth, 690 E. Orange Grove Blvd. Pasadena.
Tickets are $25. Shows are: Fridays 7/23 and 7/30 at 8 pm; Saturdays 7/24 and 7/31 at 3 and 8 pm; Sundays 7/25 and 8/1 at 3 and 8 pm. For more information and ticket sales please go to www.milestonetheatre.org or www.plays411.com/laramiemoses.
