Received an email from a reader that this dog wandered into a yard on Calavaras just west of Marengo last night: “very old and frightened, but friendly. Please let us know if you know who he lives with.”

We’ve had several stories of frightened dogs being found this weekend, usually not far from home and quickly returned to their owners, but still — your pets don’t like Independence Day, keep ’em inside if you can next year!
