Pictures we received from one of the neighbors of Eaton Canyon, who has been working with the authorities on the problem. These are pictures of the graffiti taken Monday, June 8. Some of the graffiti has since been removed. After the jump, ’cause these worms aren’t getting traction on my front page.
UPDATE 9 PM: Jeremiah @ Stonehill News has a slideshow and video of graffiti (and covered graffiti) at Eaton Canyon.

I appreciate the time taken by Stonehill News to photograph/video and share the graffiti disaster in the Canyon. One point I am not clear on is the repetitive photos of painted over graffiti. Was this to show “cleanup” done for this incident or to show such acts of vandalism are not uncommon because there is past evidence? I certainly hope no one interprets this as the latter, because the ECNC Director is on record as having said (rough quote) “We might not even get 1/2 that amount (of graffiti) the whole summer…I don’t think we’ve ever had it that bad.” This is clearly unprecedented level of vandalism in a short period, it is bad, it should not be considered normal, and it is something we should not conclude is business as usual in our Canyon. Any connection to anyone or any entity remains to be determined, but hopefully no one will spin the grey-painted rocks in any way to minimize the scope of this disaster.
