PSN front-pages the retirement of Pat Hedlund, 84, executive director of Altadena Nursery School (which has been in Pasadena for many years, but the ties are strong).  Starting in 1950 from a Caltech parents' co-op, the school has blossomed into an institution for children ages 2-5 and their parents.
