Tragic and ironic … David Shaw, an urgent care doctor from Altadena, was delivering his 5-year-old to kindergarten when a crash occured near Assumption of the Virgin Mary School in Pasadena on Wednesday. He was the first on the scene. It was only a few blocks away from where his wife Robyn and 9-year-old daughter Victoria died in a crash two weeks before. Whittier Daily News has the details.

This reminds me of years ago of the family that owned a prominent auto repair and towing shop on the Arroya Pkwy. The name escapes me at the moment, but many of us remember passing by their shop just south of California where they displayed many auto wrecks to make people aware of the danger of driving recklessly. It happened that one night the father was called to the scene of a fatal accident on the Pasadena Fwy…only to discover that the victim was his son…and that started the display of destroyed vehicles on the Parkway to dissuade others from making the same mistake.
