PWeekly's Andre Coleman has a piece on the MonteCedro project today, balancing quotes from those who like it, those who don't, and those who think that change was inevitable. It's a good recap of what happened and where we are to date (and we don't mind telling you AC picked our brains a little bit, too!).

I hope this project is never built and the lot stays empty, or is turned into a community garden or park. The demolition tooks months (and went several months past the deadline) and caused endless noise. They even had semi trucks coming in at night to drop off equipment. As for the County zoning process, it’s a joke. They only had public comment meetings during business hours when most people can’t attend. And the Town Council? They won’t have to live next to the site while there’s endless noise, dirt, and dust while it’s built. What’s so amazing about Altadena is that every project goes round and round, turns into a high school-grade drama, and then ends up as farce: La Vina, the WaMu site, Lincoln Crossing, and now this.
