Images of Dignity: The Drawings of Charles White by Benjamin Horowitz is reviewed in this article in the Langston University Gazette.  White, who spent his last years in Altadena (there’s a park named after him!) had a significant art career, coming out of WPA mural work and drawings of African American life.
