What a nice pretty website for the hillside ordinance folks and a nice little intro by Michele Zack. (What is her role in this?) Makes you believe the this ordinance is all about protecting our beautiful hillsides. Don’t be fooled people! Look beyond the spin and know this: (1) developers want to build on our hillsides (2) the county is developer friendly and will approve anything as long as the developer follows the rules (3) the county, developers, spin doctors, and political friends of the developers will put on their dog and pony show in an attempt to obfuscate what is really going to happen, which is hillside development. They all know that if they spin it correctly, the public will be distracted from this inevitable outcome. They want to put our focus on the rules the developers will follow to get their projects approved and take our attention away from the the fact that more hillside development is coming. (4) Remember this: the county approves nearly all projects if the developer secures the proper permits. The purpose of the hillside ordinance is to come up with the rules that the developers will be required to follow. The hillside ordinance WILL NOT protect the hillsides from development. It is very sad that the Altadena Foothills Conservancy has not been able to purchase all the undeveloped land that the developers have managed to get their hands on. It is very sad that wildlife habitat will be ruined and disrupted by more development. THIS is where our focus should be, not on developing rules for developers to follow so that more hillsides can be stripped.

Oh god, all the other towns around here are so much smarter than we are. they’ve been protecting what’s left of the great outdoors. Don’t touch our hillsides.

Does any one know who the developers are and what they have “developed “in the past?
