A report making the rounds from Claude Willey about Monday's meeting of the Metro in El Monte:
I just wanted to say that I went to the MTA service meeting in El
Monte on Monday evening. Seems there were a number of bus lines up
for discussion that night, but the turnout in support of the 256 line
was impressive. The Bus Riders Union brought in a busload of folks in
from Highland Park and other NELA communities reliant on that route.
Of all the public comments made about that line, 95% of them were
made in support of keeping the 256 running. It's up to the MTA board
as to what happens next.
If anyone wants any additional details, please drop me a line.

I have never seen more than one rider on the 256 line in Altadena, north of New York on Holliston. It is a colossal waste of taxpayer money. Montebello has offered to take over the southern portion of the route.
