This note to town councilor Alice Wessen from Ernest J. Brambila of Alliance Commercial Properties is being passed around the newsgroups. Altadena Plaza is presently wrapping up construction on Lincoln Ave. and Altadena Drive:
We have received an excellent proposal from Nonna's Pizzeria (South Pasadena) and they would make an excellent complement to the Center.
We have contacted every coffee company that we could think of with no success. I thought we had an independent who had expressed strong interest but he seems to have disappeared.
Howie's Market conceded that several people from the area had called in support but is still not willing to commit, more phone calls couldn't hurt. If any knows of a good Market operator let me know. If we are able to put a deal together it's well worth my paying a referral fee ($). I'm still working on a Dry Cleaner.

Why would the developer be looking for a dry cleaner? I hope they wouldn’t consider competition for the wonderful family run Rite Cleaners across the street. We very happily support this excellent business which has been in our community for years.

I think food service uses such as stores, coffee shops, bakeries and pizza parlors are a great idea for the area, and would help make the neighborhood a more walkable place. Is there a phone number we can call to encourage Howies to come to our community?
