Marshall Fundamental School sophomore Tegwyn John is going to the California Interscholastic Federation tennis league championship this month.
Longtime Altadena resident and USTA Coach Eddie Williams and his student Tegwyn John also an Altadena resident, going over some of points of the game.
Tegwyn, 15, from Altadena, is the individual winner in the Delphic league, 4th Division, following play at Cheviot Hills last month. In the CIF tournament, she will compete against other league players from all four divisions.
Tegwyn has been competing in the U.S. Tennis Association for many years, winning several tournaments in the USTA Satellite division. Proud mom Fiona John tells Altadenablog that she has ten winning trophies on her dresser.
She has been a student of coach Eddie Williams of Altadena at his USTA tennis program at Farnsworth Park for ten years.

Congratulations!
Tegwyn’s hard work and perseverance is evident. It is heart-warming to see it pay off for her. I am confident that she will again successfully apply, during this upcoming CIF tournament, that which Coach Williams has carefully taught her. She doesn’t need me to wish her good luck. She’s got the skills to win!!!
I really enjoy seeing positive items in the news, especially about our community’s children. Good job, Tim.
